Moving material. Controlling the plant.

TBCB Consulting designs the equipment that moves material through a plant and the controls that keep it running - from feed hopper to stockpile, from control panel to PLC.

Our full website is on its way. In the meantime, we're happy to talk about your project.

Typical flowsheet of a sand and gravel wash plant Feed hopper and feeder onto conveyor C1, to a double-deck rinsing screen producing 8/32 and 2/8 products by conveyor to stockpiles. Screen undersize to a sump and slurry pump, then a hydrocyclone: underflow to a dewatering screen and conveyor to a 0/2 sand stockpile, overflow to a thickener dosed with polyelectrolyte. Clear water returns to a water tank and is pumped back to the screen sprays. A PLC control panel connects over Profinet to the feeder motor, screen motor, sump level transmitter and pump drive. What we do

Two disciplines that meet on every plant: the mechanical side that moves the material, and the controls that run it. Having both under one roof means fewer handovers and faster fault finding when something stops.

Material handling

  • Conveyors, feeders and transfer points

Belt conveyors, feeders, hoppers and chutes, sized for the tonnage and laid out for maintenance access.

  • Screening and washing plant

Screens, sand recovery and water circuits for aggregates and mineral processing.

  • Stockpiling and product handling

Getting each product to the right place, at the right rate, without spillage or rehandling.

  • Steelwork and structures

Frames, platforms and supports modelled in 3D and checked by FEA before any steel is cut.

SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, AutoCAD

Automation and control

  • PLC programming

Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 in TIA Portal - new plant, upgrades of plant already running, and HMI screens operators can actually use.

  • Control panel design

Panel layouts, schematics and I/O lists, built around the plant and the site.

  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics

Fault finding on PLCs, drives, field devices and Profinet networks - getting the plant running again, then finding the root cause so it stays running.

Commissioning and site support

Installation supervision, commissioning and optimisation on site, so the plant runs the way it was designed.

Process engineering

Flowsheets, mass balances and equipment selection for wash plants and mineral processing, backed by our own plant simulation software.

Mechanical design

Equipment and structures designed in SolidWorks, checked by FEA, with full drawing packages and P&IDs.

Equipment supply

Proven European equipment sourced for Australian sites, with fabrication through our partners in Northern Ireland.
